ABOUT SONGS OF TRUTH

The Golden Gate Symphony’s Songs of Truth pays tribute to the talent and resilience of Jewish composers who continued to create music while imprisoned during the Holocaust.

This live music and multimedia storytelling project engages diverse audiences in learning about the Holocaust through music while inspiring them to recognize and resist the rise of antisemitism today.

Songs of Truth is available to be performed in two lengths:

  • 45-minute Community Concert Event — In 2024, thanks to the generous support of GGSOC generous individual donors, Songs of Truth Community Concerts will be offered FREE OF CHARGE to a limited number of Bay Area schools, libraries, churches, synagogues and community organizations museums.

In partnership with the Contemporary Jewish Museum, this small ensemble (9 performers) will also be featured at the CJM as part of their ongoing Holocaust & Resistance program from February through April 2024.

  • 120-minute Full Orchestra & Chorus Event — this performance is designed for concert halls and theaters, and premiered to standing-room-only audiences in San Francisco’s Herbst Theatre in June 2023.

Songs of Truth was created collaboratively by Citizen Film, the Golden Gate Symphony Orchestra & Chorus and Holocaust Music Lost & Found in 2023.
